Production and delivery process at it's best.

The farms

We import directly from farms located around Bogota, Colombia. Cultivation sites are well equipped with high-tech greenhouses. They have their own grading hall, cold storage rooms and refrigerated vans.

They have been selected because of their production quality, selection control, respect for their workers, and commitment to environmental protection.

The farms are close to Bogota’s Eldorado International Airport, named after the golden legend.

The farms have plans for further floriculture expansion and unlike other growers they plan to specialize in growing only roses with fewer varieties but larger volumes, so as to be able to offer to our customers.

Packing

After a detailed quality control process, roses are wrapped in fluted paper and packed in corrugated boxes specially designed for fresh cut roses. The high quality of cardboard boxes ensures the delivery of the roses in perfect condition. The fully portable strapping machine dispenses, tightens and seals the boxes to the optimum strength and the roses are ready for export.

Refrigerated Trucks

Once the flowers are ready for shipment, they are transported without delay to “Eldorado” International Airport which is just minutes away from the farms. The boxes are transported in temperature-controlled refrigerated trucks to ensure that the quality and freshness of the flowers on delivery is as good as when it was packed in the post–harvest department.

The “frozen” trucks are designed for efficient loading and discharge operations. Considering the role refrigerated transport plays and the volume of our business, which is growing, we have acquired a small fleet of trucks able to accommodate our operation products.

Business Class Seats

Every single day, we deliver thousands of fresh cut roses to Miami, via “El Dorado” Airport.

Thanks to the great acceptance and leadership of Colombian roses in the USA market, in the high season 27 specialized airplanes leave for Miami each day – more than 1 per hour.

Not Limousines, but Very Comfortable

Upon arrival in Miami, the roses are transported to our frozen warehouse - which is 7 miles away – immediately they go through another quality control process.

Just a couple of hours later we select which orders are for the local Miami market and which are going to be sent – by refrigerated consolidated trucks – to our warehouse in San Antonio, Texas.

In our local warehouses, either in Florida or Texas, roses are prepared. That “preparation” (all handmade) includes: taking them out of the original boxes that were sent from Bogota - 200 roses per box –, freshening them up by introducing them in water with vitamins, and packing them according to the presentation desired by each customer. All of them will be delivered by refrigerated vans the same day or via UPS.

So, from the moment the roses are harvested in Bogota to the moment they arrive to our customers hands, no more than 36 hours will have elapsed. This warranties that once they arrive to their new home, they will last in perfect conditions for at least 7 days – obviously, proper care has to be taken.

As you might have read elsewhere in our site, we will start operations in Orlando, Austin and Houston within the next couple of months, There, this same process will also be repeated for each individual unit.
